Hey guys and gals,

Not sure if this has been brought up before but here goes:

I think that it would be beneficial and a great idea for all members to download and sign up for Skype. We could create a chat and invite all full members in to shoot-the shit like a chat box (since the site cannot currently support one) and it could even be used to hold meetings, podcasts, etc. There could be another Skype chat for officers, so if you guys need to contact each other quickly you can just pop right on to Skype...there are many many uses for it.

I believe that this would be a great idea to help communicate/interact with other members quickly and efficiently when not on/around/near an xbox. I saw the old posts about the chat box and noticed that a lot of you guys really liked the idea of being able to shoot the shit with the guys whenever. Also, if a member becomes a problem or is banned from the site its very easy to remove them from any chat.

Yeah I know that some/most people do the point was to see if people would want to use it to communicate with other people in the clan like if everyone got a Skype.

Also true, but not everyone can..and if you want to talk to a group of people about random shit it might piss some people off that don't have group messaging on their phones. Plus, some members might not want to give out their phone numbers.

We use skype around here, mostly for the podcasts we have used in the past.

The only thing I don't like about this is the fact that when you actually use another social network/program like skype, facebook, reddit anything that you can use to communicate or chat with each other it takes traffic away from the site.

If we are having problems getting people to stay active on the forums imagine if we start using skype or another chat system.

I rather you guys use the forums to communicate with each other and keep traffic here.

I understand your reasoning for using skype however.
