Torcut, yeah thermal is pretty good, but sucks on desert maps in my opinion. I just use the tv missle to try to deal with helis at long range

Tor, I find that if I am going to be up in the air against a real good heli team the zoom is good for me..althought I may not get many kills on the ground, I can still lock the ground vehicles and potentially stay in the air against the chopper having an edge on them a bit.

Very true but the way my pilot plays is defensive, only goes aggressive once the jets and heli(s) are down so zoom is better for me and i prefer it (but thermal kicks ass when looking into buildings for people hiding in corners). Then again it all depends on the pilot because if they are aggressive all the time just leave thermal on, like you said, and turn it off when looking for people on desert maps that stick out because most people use black spec ops camo

And to pick out the one lone guy standing out in the middle of a field locking you with his ig/stinger..LOL

i love when they use black camo and stand in a brown or green field and try to stinger you. you don't need thermal or zoom optics for those folks.

Such a difference playing with a good pilot. I have avoided the choppers just for that fact that I have had so many bad ones..and those are the ones that seem to hog the heli. Last night we joined a game part way through, got in Trixie, and were fucking shit up, then someone else took it and he sucked. When I notice someone in the heli totally dominating up there I don't go near it and let them do their thang.

But I love it when admins team switch you twice in a row to get you out of heli when you aren't even spawn camping or anything bad, or you do better than the lvl 100s who own the server and you last longer than them so they just kick you even though you guys are on the same team and you are still not spawn camping/vehicle destroying

Urg...you know there are so many rooms that are run so poorly like that it drives me mad. I hear ya about that for sure. I always let the guys who are helping the team in a tank/heli or whatever continue doing what they are doing best.

I joined a game the other night just as the round was starting. The admins/owners were on the other team and they had 3 more people than us. We captured all the flags right off the bat and they completely switched both teams to opposite sides lol.
