First Time Award RequestingHow to request awards and how to confirm them
When requesting an award you do not already have here is the procedure:
1. Click on the "Awards" tab near the top of the page. It is between Recruiting and XBOX Live Leaderboards.
2. Scroll through the awards page for the award you are applying for. Click on the "Request Award" option to the right of the award description.
3. In the box below
"Please explain why the listed recipient should receive the award."
Put down the month and day you completed the requirements for the award. Below that put down the Map, Gamemode followed by what it is you achieved to earn the award. Below that if there were members there to confirm it then type in the member's names.
Rifleman Ribbon Example:
April 29, 2013 (or you can put 4/24/13)
Operation Metro, Rush - 7 shotgun kills
Members to confirm - JDChubbyBunny, Jimboslice3895
Sweet dude so say I play one game and obtain like three carbine ribbons can I request for all 3 or is it just one ribbon/award per game/map
Multiple awards/ribbons instructionsIf you have multiple awards for progress to another advanced award here is the procedure:
1. Follow this link: https://www.cagclan.com/community/fo...rds-and-Medals
2. Create a new thread titled (your name) (award name)
Example: Johnbai84 Rifleman Ribbon (Shotgun)
3. For every game you make progress on put the date it was accomplised then below that the map and game mode followed by the number completed total.
Example:
April 29, 2013 (Or 4/29/13)
Operation Metro, Rush - 1/10
Seine Crossing, Conquest - 2/10
If you need more examples heres a link to one of my threads:

When you create the thread make sure to occasionally let a someone know so they can verify your games. You don't have to do it every single time but enough so your games aren't overwritten. Battlelog is used to verify this and you can save up to 4 battle reports to help. I believe iamsnakeplisken is the awards guy you wanna talk to about verifying games and what not but don't quote me on that haha. Hope this was helpful guys

Only 1 ribbon of each type is eligible for progress per game. So say for example you get a carbine ribbon, an assault ribbon, and a pistol ribbon, each one is eligible as progress toward the rifleman of the weapon type specified. In a nutshell, any ribbon you earn the first time in a match will count, multiples of the same ribbon in a match do not.
So any hints or tips on what way best to work this out starting off?should I just concentrate on one particular ribbon type until the full award status is achieved and then move onto the next?il need a notepad beside me while I'm gaming to record the ribbon and maps by the sounds of things lol
In my personal opinion, The quickest way is to diversify your play style in a match. If you already got 7 kills with the assault class weapons try and get 7 with carbines, then snipers, LMGs, Pistols, etc. Since 1 ribbon of each can count try and get 1 for each category. This includes things like repairs, revives also. I personally didn't use a notepad, But there are those who do. I would make a check list of the awards you can earn for each class.
Example:
Assault (aka Medic) -
Assault Rifle Kills
Revives
Engineer -
Carbine Kills
Repairs
etc,
When you're in game just keep note of what you've achieved (You'll know when you've earned it when you recieve the ribbon in-game) with each class and move on down the line to most effectively make progress.
It helps alot to have battlelog open and your award threads that you are working on open in your web browser. That way all you have to do is look at the battle report once you've completed a match, look at the ribbons earned and for each one that counts edit the award thread you've made progress on and add it to your list. I find this the easiest and quickest way to record your progress.

I believe recruits must wait until full membership. When you receive full membership you will have to apply for your Dogg Ribbon. After that you will be able to start requesting awards.
Also, John forgot to mention, While you are earning your awards, the next important award to make progress toward is the Combat Infantry Badge (CIB). To earn this you will need 10 rifleman ribbons for each weapon type, Assault Rifle, Carbine, LMG, Sniper, Shotgun, PDW, and Pistol (Knife not included).
