Laptop fried?(Black and White Screen)

Welp, I had this laptop for a while and it kept getting viruses and such and now i think it's now dead.

Plug it into a monitor. See if something else pops up.

It happened when i plugged it into a monitor that i got the white n black screen

usually if you had virus you should be getting a blue screen error when you start it up, but it is black or white, I think it could been your hard drive got fried due to getting overheated.

White screen usually means the back-light has gone out and can be replaced for not to much. Black screen is either a defective LCD screen or motherboard. If its the motherboard and the laptops more than I say 3 years just buy a new one.

I am getting a new laptop next feb(aka my 18th birthday) I don't wanna drive so xD
