Ok for the 3rd time this year I have to go replace my Xbox. 1st time for eating my Cd's 2nd time for 3 red rings and now the 3rd time 2 red rings. I run everything how it supposed to I don't get why they keep breaking. After my warranty runs out I will most likely not get another if this next one breaks.
what kind of xbox do you have? if you have slim, you should have no problem get those issue or needing a replacement.
All my stuff is the newest, never buy pre owned unless its a game. Always buy the 2 year warranty's.
damn player i only had one xbox red ring and it was preowned. i guess im just lucky.

oh ok than that weriod how you get those issue. Maybe you get slims then lol that what I have right now and I got no issue or 2 red rings.
I know whats wrong with it and can fix it, just not without voiding my warranty. My heat sink is shot.
Wrap it up in towels to heat the heat sink back up. When it gets really hot it will soften up the glue. Thats how I used to fix mine back in the day. It works but only for a month or so.

That is rare now, all new xbox systems from 3 years ago have the new heat sinks, I have had mine now for 3 years and no problems. Before that I went through 3 others which had the old heat sinks that heated up and screwed up the solder work inside them.
I feel your pain, I just replaced mine sat for the second time for RRD. But I always buy the old arcade version, the last one made it five years until this past weekend. I was hoping it would hold out till the 728 came out.
