I have a way old xbox. But it has a fan mod in it now. A person off craigslist only charged 5 dollars to do the fan mod in it. Hasn't ever overheated. Something to consider. Unless you have the slim of course. Like Cheech said, it shouldn't have an overheating issue. I believe the Slim's have 6 fans instead of 2.

Something that also helps is where you place your xbox. If you don't have it on a flat solid surface and have it inside a shelf or just on say the floor rug it will overheat quickly.

I use 4 plastic water bottle caps to raise not only my 360 but my laptop from the surface. That allows it to vent more easily because it has that room underneath.

So make sure you do not have your 360 enclosed by walls on an entertainment system or some shelf.

I've had the same xbox for about 5 or 6 years and there's nothing wrong. Just sometimes the disc tray doesn't open.

@ stormy - yeah I remember ... had you howling like a wolf

@ sasquatch - yeah the tray on mine sometimes will play dick and not open. But if you just lightly push up on the outside of the tray it will open.
