So do I qualify for the prestige medals even though I wasn't in the clan when I was those prestiges? Or do I only get the one for the 10th prestige and the master prestige when I get there?

Yes you qualify for the prestige medals once you become a member of the clan.

Riflemen are the grunts of CAG, everyone starts off as a rifleman just like in the Marines.

An assaultman is uses every thing at his disposal, from grenades to rocket launchers, they just what the title says, Assault Men !

The Designated Marksman would be what a sniper or sit back long shooter is for CAG. I consider myself a Designated Marksman because I use the ARs mostly for long range shooting instead of moving around. I stay stationary most of the times and wait for them fucks to go across my cross hairs.

The DM Badge is also available for those who are long range, sniper type of shooters.
