This would be hilarious if playstation did this for one reason:
Other vendors will see this as a chance to say OH HEY! GUESS WHAT! We welcome you using second hand games, come to our console. There may be a large exodus away from playstations because of this. This is suicide for any game studio or console that trys to enforce this.
Think of it, my case in point. I picked up Assassians Creed 3 on black friday. I played it, really liked it, and now I'm in the process of buying the rest of them. Why? Because I liked the game and the story line. Now, while I understand the studios get hosed by me buying a second hand game, I'd have no problem paying a SMALL, MODEST fee (much like what battlefield does, 800points/$10) to unlock the game to play, PROVIDED they CLEARLY disclose this on the packaging. None of that fine print crap at the bottom that is impossible to read, but clearly in the section that shows how many players, storage space required, etc just above the bottom.
The above point also applies to Final Fantasy 13-2 that i picked up on black friday. I liked the story and the game play, I went and bout FF13.
This would be suicide for the gaming industry to attempt them, not to mention, its not very "green" for the environment.
May not know what I'm doing, but by god I'll give it a try!
I really hate this season pass shit and not being able to play used games unless you had the game as the original owner. It's bad enough that you can't take back a game after you buy it because of some bullshit rule that someone decided to put in place.

But yes, that season pass by EA is the fucking catalyst to all this shit now.
