A few thoughts...

Oh the holidays we meet again. While others will be celebrating and opening all of their presents with family, there is a small group of us that will report to work to keep everyone safe.

Public Safety employees dedicate their lives to serving others, while often times never getting a thank you. We sacrifice time with our families so we can protect yours, we work long hours over the holidays to let our coworkers have time off with their small children, and we do it all not for the money or the recognition, we do it because we care.

So this holiday season, when you see a police officer, a firefighter, a medic, or a 911 operator out and about, please say thank you. Thank them for spending time away from their families so you may spend it with yours.

Merry Christmas to all from this public safety employee. I personally will be working this holiday season.
