Assassin's Creed III
Description - Assassin's Creed returns with a vicious continuation of its series. The American Colonies, 1775. It's a time of civil unrest and political upheaval in the Americas. As a Native American assassin fights to protect his land and his people, he will ignite the flames of a young nation's revolution. Assassin's Creed III takes you back to the American Revolutionary War, but not the one you've read about in history books.
Graphics/Animation
As soon as you start to play the single-player mode story, you notice the Animation well-presented, and very sharp.. From the way the streets of Boston flow with common conversations, buyers and sellers haggling for items (and I honestly find myself walking to my objectives instead of running towards them, because the engine is just that good), to the way the blood splatters when your opponent's jugular gets sliced... As well, as ANY pet or farm animal that shows up and you can pet them, except your typical lovely wolves and bears that show up when your in the middle of the Forrest, and you could step on rats for god sake's... BTW the weather affects is the BEST up to date....
Gameplay
The gameplay is alright. The running and walking has been completely updated from previous Assassin's Creeds, and it is a work of art. I sometimes, when chasing after thieves or running from redcoats, feel like I'm playing Madden because of the ability to rush through crowds, turn corners, and leap over obstacles and it's incredible.. What this game is known for, yes that is climbing buildings (and now trees) is now smoother, yes you're still find yourself not going where you wanted your character to go but it doesn't take away from the ability to do all these things... The combat is still the same style but with some twists... If you've played previous Assassin's Creeds, you are still going to find yourself waiting for the enemy to attack you first so you can get that sweet counter-attack action that always works, the twists made are the new combat animations, but it is definitely smoother than previous Assassin's creeds..
Multiplayer
The MP is definitely very unique, it is not a Gun n Run oriented type of game, so you COD player will either have to adjust or just wait for Black Ops 2. I already see my fair share of COD players who run around rooftops and get spotted easily, and who get kills by sprinting around no knowing that it only gets you 100 points, when a hidden, incognito kill gets you close to 400 points... There is a variety of characters, weapons, abilities (perks, only on some game modes) to select from...The Customization is out of this world! You can create an emblem, put it on your characters outfit, you can put face paint on you're character, you can customize your moves (Hidden blade kill move, Melee weapon kill move, and Stun move)..
Overall
The game is definitely a must buy, for Assassin's Creed fans or gamers looking for a game to adapt to. Assassin's Creed III is a wild-ride, and an amazing experience. You will constantly encounter 'ooh' and 'wow' moments because of the beauty hardwired in the game. Also, you will come across some 'whaaaaat?' moments because there are several surprises in the story line.
