Is that enough to game bro? I use this for my web design and graphics design on photoshop, illustrator, fireworks and pretty much everything with Adobe.

Its Decent for gaming it would handle BO 2 and 1, CS, couple of the battlefields. Only thing it cant run is high detailed games like Borederlands, Bf3, Resident Evil 5, any real high detailed games. You can run them but they wouldn't be peak performance. I also do graphics design but I use Cinema 4d.

I think I need to get this lappy check out though, when I run say sony vegas to render videos, it gets so hot that it shuts down.

Try cleaning it inside. Clean all of the fans and stuff. If not it might just be your CPU.

Yeah I already clean all the dust, which leads me to believe it might just be a bad graphics card. I read a few reports about this model having problems with the graphics card. It has not shut down on me in a long time but only because I have never tried to render videos.
