The Baltimore Ravens have confirmed today that Ray Lewis is out for the season with a a complete tear of the triceps after last nights game vs the Dallas Cowboys.

Ray Lewis was the Baltimore Raven's 1st Round pick 26th overall in the 1996 NFL Draft out of the University of Miami. Ray Lewis was a starter since his freshman year. He never won a National Championship with the Hurricanes but did win a Championship in the NFL with the Baltimore Ravens when they defeated the Giants in Super Bowl XXXV 37-7 and was also Super Bowl MVP.

Ray Lewis was selected to the Pro Bowl a record 13 times, record all Pro 10 times, was named defensive player of the year 2 times in his 17 NFL seasons. At age 37 Ray Lewis is arguably the best middle linebacker of all time. He played in 228 games, 1336 total tackles 972 solo. He also totaled 41.5 sacks and 31 interceptions.

Speculation of this being his last season is already all over the news. At this point Ray Lewis has not else to prove, he has done it all. His career will be one that not many will ever match let alone get close to matching.
