The Army is 70%, the VA rated me at 90% with it all being combat related injuries. They took my bank info, same direct deposit account I currently get paid through from the Army.
Then you should be set Bro. When was the last time you talked to them and what did they say as to when to expect 1st payment?
Don't want to necessarily hop in a convo where its not warranted, but how long ago did you get out of the army rabid? The VA has a policy where if you file your claims within 12 months of your end of service, they get put on the priority list. When I got out, I got back pay and started receiving my normal payments within 2 months of when I filed my claims (after they had me go to the civilian doctors and what not to verify everything). Granted, i'm only at 10% with high freq hearing loss and tinitus... but my wife was in the military also and shes at like 60% and she recieved hers fairly quickly as well.
Yeah then if he filed before e got out like when he ha his final physical an med review an he has already had his va claim confirmation packets where they tell him to see a va affiliated doc, then he can be receiving his shit any week now. Even if he filed after he got out, va should have sent him a packet basically saying "we received your claim for such and such" and made him an appt to see a doc for whatever he claimed and then for a general physical to be sure nothing else was missed. From here, pending docs notes/results that gets sent to va, they will send a packet describing their decisions an telling you what your awarded. All this can happen in as little as 2-4 months. So depending on where in the process your at... That's what to look for
I'm on Transitional Leave currently. I signed out in Nov 8th and it goes until Jan 19th. Then I will actually be out. As for the VA....since I went through went through the MEB/PEB and I am being medically retired, that is already done. I received my VA rating in October with 90% disability. They said it should start no later than March 1st.
Yeah my last pay day is Jan 15th, then they take 7-10 days to pay me the rest if my travel pay, etc.....about $6,000. But I'll still have a huge gap in pay. So I'm looking for a full time job to cover us until everything is stable.
Right..damn that is gonnah rough man...but im sure you will figure out a way .
