An EU PSN Store update has reportedly revealed a price and date for the rumoured Battlefield 3 Premium service. According to the leak Battlefield 3 Premium will set players back £39.99/€49.99/AU$79.95 and will become available on June 4, 2012.


The listing was spotted and reported by Eurogamer but has since been removed. A formal reveal is expected at EA's E3 press conference next Monday.


Not unlike Call of Duty Elite it would appear that, by paying for a subscription, Battlefield 3 players will have access to DLC early and for no further cost. Call of Duty Elite has more than 10 million registered users and two million paying subscribers.


An alleged English fact sheet for Battlefield 3 Premium, also leaked out of Europe (via German site gamersunity.de), claims Battlefield 3 Premium subscribers will also have access to a unique in-game knife, a variety of exclusive soldier and weapon camos and other perks, like "queue priority into servers" and exclusive double XP weekends

EA look poised to set off another stink bomb with Battlefield 3 fans, as leaked details about the new Premium service suggest subscribers will get priority in server queues and will be able to reset their stats.

Details of Battlefield 3 Premium (aka Platinum) have been leaked once again, with what appears to be an E3 fact sheet offering a list of features which only paid-for subscribers will have access to.

First noticed by forum NeoGAF on a German website, this could be a fake but to be honest it does look legit. Especially as the service was due to be officially announced on Monday anyway.
Premium is similar in concept to Call Of Duty Elite, even though the stat-tracking element of Elite is already available for free via Battlelog.
If you pay the $49.99 EA are asking though you'll get early access to downloadable content (two weeks early to be precise), extra customisation options and exclusive in-game items (including an ACB-90 knife, a set of Premium dog tags, and exclusive camos).

The most controversial features though are the ability to reset player stats and queue priority into servers. Premium will allow you to reset your Score/Minute, Kills/Deaths, and Wins/Losses stats for your multiplayer profile. The queue priority will allow you to jump ahead of other non-subscribers waiting for a game.

Like Elite, Premium will also offer exclusive Double XP weekends and subscriber-only events, as well as strategy guides and other exclusive videos and sneak peeks.

The fact sheet also clearly lists a fifth piece of downloadable content: the mysterious Aftermath which neither DICE nor EA has yet admitted is real.

Premium's launch date is listed as June 4th, although there may be a slight difference in when it's turned on in the US and Europe. Although that is the same date as Sony accidently leaked yesterday, when they also stated a price of £39.99 for a year's membership.

The fact sheet lists an Xbox 360 price of 4000 Microsoft Points, which works out as £34.20. That's a pretty big difference between the two prices though, so it may not be final.

Well I asked because i got the cod elite premium and honestly it sucked. I doubt I would even pay for a premium service for ghost recon, this shit about charging extra like this for a fucking feature like this that is not going to be running the way it should is just that, bs.

I have been reading on the bf3 forums and tons of people are already complaining about bf3's premium service not working like it should.

Ha! I have been buying EA games since 1991! Nothing that "IS" in the "game" is in any game of EA's. I primarily buy EA's "Madden Football" and even they they screw us over every year I still buy the fucking game because it's the only American Football game out there.

Fuck EA this year though, I am not spending a fucking dime on these assholes. EA has to be the biggest masked monopoly in the video game industry. They have so much money and to see them charge people for a premium service is actually pretty scary. This is going to eventually mean that they are going or will start charging us for a premium service in sports games.

So what does it mean really? Since the launching of next gen consoles, all sports games have taken steps back in terms of features that used to be in the 1st gen consoles. In football games you have players retiring, there is a "premium" feature that you pay 250 ms points for and you can use it to keep 1 player from retiring for up to 2 years. Really? lol...

BF3 was they only BF game I bought from them and it will be the only one I get suckered into buying. Fuck EA!

Well we can go on for ever about this, but that is your eyes not mine. Answer me this, would you run around in real life the way that you run around in BF3? BF3 is slowly turning into MW3, people running around with shotguns just spraying them in the general direction of someone and getting a cheap kill. People running around with sniper rifles and getting a cheap kill. Anyone can run around with any weapon now and get cheap kills, the game did not play like this in the begining, yet EA has turned BF3 into a fucking arcade style game.

There is a reason you did not like GRFS and it's because you can't run around like you do on BF3 and get those easy kills. Again I don't mean to offend you, but if you had "some skills" you would have no problem playing a tactful game like GRFS. lol....

So glad I bought the back to back to karkland map pack for this to comeout an hour after in the latest patch.il most probably buy it but it as I am a geek lol.
