Last night I noticed that some CAG members were having connection issues and not everyone knows how to fix them. One of the easiest ways to lower your ping is to change your DNS. A popular one is Google's DNS which is 8.8.8.8. There's a program out there called Namebench that will check which DNS is best for your connection and allow faster download speeds and lower pings. It takes a minute for the program to run but it can really make a difference.

For those of you struggling with strict or moderate NATs should try using a DMZ. Out of the four different routers I've used, DMZ always keep my NAT open and is a million times easier for most people than port forwarding. Ill leave a link to a walkthrough here.

QoS or Quality of Service, is something that can tremendously help your Xbox's connection if you have multiple people connecting to your wifi. It gives your Xbox priority over all other traffic going through your router so when your spouse, kid, etc. is downloading something or watching netflix, it doesn't disrupt your connection or cause lag spikes. For most routers all you need to do is put in the MAC Address of your Xbox which you can find by going to settings, network, and finally advanced settings. MAKE SURE to use the one that corresponds to your connection. If you have an ethernet cable plugged in, use the Wired Mac, if your using wireless, use the wireless MAC. After that just set the priority to highest and reset your router to make sure the settings are saved.
Lastly, most people never think about it but using an ethernet cord instead of using the convenience of wireless makes an enormous difference. It can be the difference of going from a two par ping on cod to having all four and pulling host. I hope this helps you guys!
