July 4 Memorable Moments And Traditions

Okay all you Americans that celebrate the fourth of July holiday. Any traditions you have for this day or how about a memorable moment?

While I was growing up every fourth my family and I would all go up to Lake Geneva Wisconsin to a place call Big Foot park. There we would meet up with all my Dad's friend and they would grill, shoot off fireworks, and all us kids would play in anticipation for the time our parents would take us across the street(yes a busy street separated the lake and park) and we could swim in the lake. They also had a hiking trail and creek. Wonderful memories filled my childhood with that place .

my mom used to get all kinds of good illegal fireworks from a dude she worked with each year when i was younger. one year, which was during a hot summer in which there was a drought, we got a bunch of aerial stuff and my aunt tried setting a huge rocket off out of a plastic soda bottle and as the rocket took off the bottle fell over and the rocket went straight out into the huge dry field behind my house and set it on fire. she went in the house, called the fire company and immediately took a nervous shit. it was pretty fucking hilarious. we still joke about it to this day.

When I was little we used to go to my Grandma's house all the time to blow off the fireworks. (The illegal ones as well). My uncle and my dad used to spend a shit load of $ on them so there were a lot. For some reason we had them all in a tall lawn refuse bag that year and some moron left them under the picnic basket. My grandma while sitting on picnic accidentally dropped a punk which went into the bag and started all the fireworks up. It was so funny watching all of us running for cover all sorts of shit going off in every damn direction
