I have 2 choices of Internet Providers and want everyone's best suggestions. I can either chose Windstream with 10 Meg or Hughs Net with 15 Meg. Hughs Net is 3 times more expensive. Whom would you chose?

I've never used windstream but we have hughs net down on the farm and I like it better than the Internet we have at our house. Even over wifi instead of plugged right into the router it's better

I have a friend who uses wind stream and he says he rarely ever experiences lag

Really it all comes down to MBPerS with any internet more is better but more than you need is a waste if that makes sense so if you could find out roughly what the game servers are pumping out you can plan accordingly

I had 15mb Hughes Net when I lived in Oklahoma. I tried to race multiplayer in forza 5 & my buddy said I was glitching all over the track. I would not reccomend it.

I am not familiar with either of those providers as i am in the UK but my suggestion would be this
try do a little homework in your immediate area (the area opperating on the same line as yourself) and gather some info - lag, speed at peak and off peak etc
then see which is the most popular of the 2.... if the 15meg is the most popular and has a shit ton of people using it then the additional 5meg you get wont make a blind bit of difference as the traffic is high
Going along with spray there has to be other gamers in your area that had to make the same choice as you and put the experiences up in review form. If Hugh's has okay internet but their customer service is like pulling teeth from an alligator I'd take the speed hit. Honestly I can't see 5mbps making a world of difference. The ISPs in my area go 5, 10, 30, or if your mister money bags 50-100.
The upload is the most important, you need at least 5 mbps upload speed to be able to game ...your download speed can be 10 or 15 mbps and you will be fine ...
Hughs net is. Windstream is hardline

You don't want satellite internet unless that is the only thing you have in your area ... Hardline is always better but only if you have fiberoptic lines or rg6 cable and not rg59 coaxial cable ... rg59 will burn and does not allow both audio and video to go through as good as rg6 ...
You can tell if you have rg59 or rg6 because rg59 coaxial cable is very thin and you can bend it easily ... rg6 is about the thickness of a nickle and you can't bend it as easily ..
I used to work for timewarner, verizon and comcast so believe what I tell you ... stay away from satellite internet if possible and worry about your upload speed for gaming ...
Here you go:

Thanks Cheech. I will make sure I get hardline Internet w/RG6 cable and with at least 10 mbs up and 15 down.

Covie, you want to go with the Windstream then. I know you said that the price was higher, but like Cheech said... NEVER go satellite unless that's your only option. Most of them know they're shit and make you sign a contract... and they're damn near impossible to break out of. Go with Windstream.
Ok thanks, but not I'm getting an automated call from Windstream stating I'm only going to receive 3meg?!! WTF....They said 10!

Verizon is great on top of Covie Mt. I usually have 2-3 bars at 3G, but we are having a Satellite put in that will boost our signal to 4G and full signal.
