As a fire team leader what is expected from me. I don't want to let down anyone.

I would call it an administrative leader.
You are the point of contact within the chain of command. If someone on your fireteam has a concern or problem, they should come to you first. You can elevate to your squad leader if you need to, following the chain of command. Your squad leader may ask you to communicate things to your fireteam, which might require private messages or XBL messages. You should be aware if any of your fireteam is MIA.
For Whiskey, at this time, I wouldn't say that you must be playing with your fireteam. I believe the Spec Ops squads are being designed for actual in-game squad play and tactics.
You should have an increased focus on helping Recruits get their Marksman.
I welcome any criticism and/or advice on how I see the position.
wrd!, im down to help recruits with the marksmen anytime.
btw pisspaw, where is that recruit we played with last night? gunner? gunny?
i liked that he was talking alot and giving us info.
You are probably referring to GunnyCopperhead
