Well the guy did change details to his story.

A detail like when the gun was cocked is easy enough to get wrong. I would imagine it's the first time a gun was shoved into his face.

true, but he also said that the taxi was stopped by the gunmen then later said they were at a petrol station and got back in the taxi. I, of course, believe them. It is Brazil after all, but they do have to check it.
