Hey just wondering if anyone else in the clan has been in the military other than myself?
Just a bit of info I was recently honorably discharged from the USMC after 5 great years. Got to travel the world and shoot stuff and blow stuff up and wouldn't change it for the world.
Anyone else?
I was at USMC in San Diego back in 2000. I broke my knees around the 3rd week and never told my D.I.s. I went through all 12 weeks taking meds and eventually landed in MRP for almost 4 months. Since my knees were not healing correctly,(bilateral tibial stress fractures and meniscus damage on both knees), they decided to send me home on an ELS (Entry Level Separation) Honorable Discharge.
I am now 25% disabled (service connected) and I get a pension every month from the VA. I have full medical and even my VA Home Loan ready for when I want to get my house.
There was nothing more I wanted to be than a Marine, but my relentless attitude ended up being my downfall.
But we do have other prior mils in here. Stormy is another one, he was an ARMY dude! haha
I've heard alot of stories like that actually. There were quite a few guys being sent to MRP during my boot camp cycle, with all kinds of crazy injuries.
Glad I made it through without any serious injuries. I had to get a few stitches and I had to wear an ankle brace because I blew out my ankle a few times.
Well at least you can say you tried to earn the title there aren't many who can even say that.
Yeah dude, really sucks because I took off to bootcamp 2 weeks earlier than I was told and I missed my Son's birth cuz my recruiter talked me into leaving.
Same story as Cheech but it was a heart condition instead. I feel fine and could run laps around those other assholes, but on paper it says I'm spoiled goods. I had the option to contest their decision and even had a doctor write a letter stating I could continue. I decided not to continue because of moral conflicts, but I have decided to re-enlist if ever Canada should be attacked at home.
Im not prior, but im swearing into the Marine Corps this january now
I was in the Army for 18 years. 10 active and 8 reserves. :ar:

When I lose 10 pounds I'm going in the Army. Plan is to do medical. I had planned on trying to get Coremen in the Navy... Though this recruiter I'm seeing seems very promising.Quote:
