Are You Starting To Feel Like Everything is Being Rushed?

BF4:

BF4 was rushed for the sole purpose to compete with COD Ghosts sales. As a result BF4 took a HUGE hit in sales and fan base because of how broken it was and still is.


Xbox One:

Yes that's right, XB1 was rushed. Why? To compete with PS4. As a result people flipped shit about the first iteration of the policies. Microsoft quickly change them in an attempt to stop the backlash but where a little to late. Xbox One sales did not pass the PS4 launch numbers, and PS4 is still currently outselling Xbox One.

XB1 is still suffering issues due to being rushed. Party chat being constantly fucked up or just not working. Games crashing. The interface becoming slower and slower as time passes. Now I'm not saying PS4 isn't having issues, but not to the extent that XB1 is.


GTA Online:

It was rushed, but I don't believe it was intentional. R* had / has high hopes for the game mode and rightly so. After a few patches they have fixed about 90-95% of the issues. So, was it rushed? Yes, but it was fixed quickly and effectively.


Watch Dogs:

Another game that everyone had high hopes for but in the end was definitely a let down. The multiplayer simply does not work. The game it self was fun, but left everyone wanting more and asking why it was so short. And one thing that still gets me is that they made Chicago a god damn Island!!! Seriously!? I would rather have had invisible walls as a border then making Chicago a island.


I'm sure there a lot more examples, but to me it's obvious that games, systems, DLC, and even patches are being pushed out way to fast without proper testing.

But you can't put 100% of the blame on developers, we as consumers have grown beyond impatient for the next iteration of our favorite game or even new games.



What are your thoughts?

add Forza to dat list. just about everything that came out last year including the console was indeed rushed. remember, PS announced the PS4 launch long before MS announced XB1's release date... food for thought.

I don't believe the XBone problems have to due with them rushing the product. Do you remember the RROD? It has to do with not properly testing the system before launch. This is the SECOND time Microsoft has "screwed the pooch." This is why I don't like to buy most things when they first comes out. I didn't purchase my car for two years before it came out because I knew they always got to get the bugs out. After I found out they fixed a recall issue I went out and bought it. Not trying to be an asshole here but if you purchased the system and thought it was going to be worry free then your very naive. I do agree SOME digital content(games) are rushed but that has to do with big companies and deadlines. Look at the other side of the coin too. Do you want every company to be like Valve? I mean we haven't seen Half Life 3 yet and look how long it took them to make Diablo 3. It's a very slippery slope and we need to be informed consumers or bite the bullet when WE make the mistake to purchase an unfinished product.

Well in sense I don't think the new CoD will be rushed because it has apparently been in developed for around 1 1/2 yrs or so... Just my two sense but I agree with everything Mechro posted.

The new cod has had 2 1/2 years for development. They better pull through and not make a ghost replica cuz that game is garbage!!!

Did you see the glimpse of multiplayer?? I was infuriated. People were jumping really high and side strafing.... COD does not need really high vertical jumps and swift side steps...

Yeah I agree with you .. a lot of it has been rushed and the ones who always suffer are us the Gamers .
The ones who actually enjoy gaming for the fun of it .
These big companies make there money and run smh

Yes I do feel like everything is being rushed, why not not just finish your product and resolve all your issues with the game/consoles before you start to sell them.

Most of this is based on the age old problem of spending vs. profits. We think of a product as "rushed" when it's put into play in a more or less unfinished state, but for all intents and purposes, that's a monetary issue, not a time issue. If product development was free, most companies would take their time to make great products, because great products sell. But since it's not free, companies have to balance the money and effort spent against estimated gain. As the world have evolved into something more capitalistic/corporatistic, where profit margins are everything, these kind of things will continue to happen.

Not saying it's good. But, there's no reason to be surprised about it either.

It is all about money. They know you going to buy it regardless of how it is. Stop complaining about it being rushed. How about just dont buy the product.

hoping for CoD to not be a copy pasta is like hoping for money to grow on trees.

D3 only took so long because Diablo was/is and always has been F2P. Blizz focus' on WoW first and foremost because of the sub fee and Starcraft typically second because it has a larger player base.
