I think if u check the awards section where u request them under each award there is a brief description on how to obtain them.thats if the haven't changed this.

The thread is in bf4 forums angel the description I. The awards are a bit bleak every award needs to be done 10 times so for instance medic badge you need 7 revives in a game but need to do this 10 times and yes it needs to keep tracked of just like your marksman thread and need to be confirmed by full members along with a link
