BF4 Commander
So the few times I have been commander in bf4 was alright. To me though its boring, I would rather be down on the ground leading my troops into battle not sitting at a screen watching them. so if you guys want to be commander in the matches go for it.

Apart from the Commander challenges ... I agree.
Though, I think one team without a commander against a team with one could be a crutch.
-
true, the only helpful thing is the uav scans which really can turn the tide of a battle if your team can execute an order quickly.
-
The ammo drops help alot also, Can't even remember how many times we resupplied from those bad boys today playing rush.
-
havent tried yet but i remember playing commander a lot on BF2.... it definitely won matches .... point and click with a mouse was a big asset for commander ...i am only rank 8 or 9 ... havent seen bf4 commander mode yet

I'm pretty sure that it's level 10, stormy.
I've been a commander in about 6 matches.
It's ok, useful but moderately exciting as a player. If you were to communicate with the boots, it helps, because they may see an enemey or two going someplace then you pop up a UAV on that area and, voila, see what enemies are over there. You feel more connected.
Things you always have access to
- Top level view, with some zoom
- 3-D view, which gives you kind of a close in camera view (blockable by EMP UAV, I think)
- Tell a squad to go to an objective
- Tell the team to abandon an objective
- One Scan UAV around an objective (which I believe shows the enemies for your team around the objective you select. When the UAV scan runs out, you can do another at the same or different objective)
- One EMP UAV around an objective (which I think blocks the other commander from using 3-D view on that objective
Things you sometimes get (likely because the squads are taking objectives you tell them and you are getting UAV assists)
- You can promote a squad, which gives them the next Field Upgrade
- You can call in an Infantry Scan (which I believe slowly scans the whole map0
- You can call in a Vehicle Scan
- Drop a supply box at an objective (allowing resupply or switching kits)
- Drop a vehicle at an objective
Things that are a bit more rare
- Reinforce a Squad (I think this calls in some helicopter support)
- Call in a Missile Strike
I think the most important thing is to call in Scan UAV in key areas or areas you think the enemy will be. Everything else is gravy, some of it fun, some meh.
