Wow, I have read most of his books, maybe on or two I have missed, I remember when Rainbow Six for the regular playstation was first announced I was so fucking excited because I started reading his books when I was like in 5th grade lol...
While he had very little to do with the actual games, his ideas were the ones used and his way of thinking, th planning , the tactics and how we envisioned when he wrote his books. In 1998 when his first game came out Red Storm actually listened and payed attention to Tom Clancy and that is why the best Tom Clancy games came out in the first 3-4 years ....
But then Red Storm decided they no longer needed his input, just like EA did to John Madden. His book The Hunt for Red October was such a bad ass book and then when the movie came out starring Sean Connery? oh damn what a great fucking movie as well.
Yes this guy is going to be missed, a great mind and great influence for a lot of other writers that's for sure.
Iv had read a lot of Tom Clancy books while I was incarcerated and I must say the detailed way he wrote his books was amazing to the point u could picture the scene he was describing without even trying .
He Is and always will be a legend .
