Patrick Roy is your next head coach of the Av's

it was confirmed today that Patrick Roy, former ELITE Goalie of the Avalanche, is the new Head Coach of the Colorado Avalanche.

thought's? opinion's? was this a good hire?

Patrick Roy was the reason I became an Avs fan, before that I was a fan of his when he was with the Montreal Canadians and then they became the Avs. I followed him till the day he retired.

In my opinion he was and still is the best goalie ever and hopefully the success he had as a player carries over now that he is a coach.

And to top this off, Joe Sakic is the Executive Vice President of Hockey Operations, must I remind you all that these guys won 2 Stanley Cups as part of the Avs when they played together. .....oh yeah baby...OOOOOOOOOOOH YEAH !

I agree Cheech. I lived in Denver when The Av's won the Stanly Cup..I think it was becouse of Patrick Roy .

i know he had some success coaching thus far. i just hope it's not hiring a name and hoping it will fix that team. like mike singletary in san fran.
